Writers Guild Awards 2024: premiati The Holdovers e American Fiction. Tutti i vincitori

The Holdovers – Lezioni di vita, American Fiction e Succession sono stati tra i vincitori dei Writers Guild Awards 2024, assegnati durante la serata di domenica 14 aprile, in due cerimonie simultanee a New York e Los Angeles.

Il miglior script adattato è stata assegnato al film scritto e diretto da Cord Jefferson, vincitore dell’Oscar 2024 per la sceneggiatura non originale, mentre l’opera di Alexander Payne con Paul Giamatti e Da’Vine Joy Randolph ha vinto il premio per la migliore sceneggiatura originale (il vincitore dell’Oscar di quest’anno, Anatomia di una caduta, è stato ritenuto non eleggibile per i WGA Awards).

Accettando il premio a Los Angeles, lo sceneggiatore di The Holdovers David Hemingson ha ringraziato “un cast e un regista brillante” per aver dato vita alla storia e ha accettato “in memoria di mia madre che mi ha cresciuto, di mio zio che mi ha salvato e di mio padre, che mi ha passato l’amore per la parola scritta e mi ha insegnato il valore dell’integrità”.
