NAACP Image Awards 2024: Il colore viola è il vincitore e Usher vince il premio come intrattenitore dell’anno

I NAACP Image Awards sono i premi attribuiti ogni anno dalla National Association for the Advancement of Colored People come riconoscimento per il lavoro svolto da persone nere nel mondo dell’arte (cinema, letteratura, musica, teatro e TV).

Quest’anno il film Il colore viola ha trionfato portando a casa il premio per il miglior film e altri tre premi, assegnati durante la cerimonia di chiusura che si è svolta allo Shrine Auditorium di Los Angeles. Il remake diretto da Blitz Bazawule, prima della trasmissione televisiva, aveva già vinto sette premi, presentati durante cerimonie non televisive all’inizio di questa settimana, su 16 nomination. Quindi, in totale, ha vinto ben 11 NAACP Image Awards.

La produttrice Oprah Winfrey è stata la presentatrice a sorpresa del primo premio di Intrattenitore dell’anno dei NAACP Image Awards, andato a Usher, vincitore del President’s Award. La cerimonia è stata aperta da un videomessaggio della vicepresidente Kamala Harris e condotta da Queen Latifah.

Nella sezione cinematografica e televisiva dei premi, Abbott Elementary ha vinto alla grande, raccogliendo numerosi premi tra cui miglior serie comica e trofei per Quinta Brunson e William Stanford Davis. Altri vincitori includono Ayo Edebiri per il suo ruolo in The Bear, Chloe Bailey in Praise This, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story e il film Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse. 

Anche alcuni vincitori dell’Oscar hanno continuato la loro lista di traguardi: Cord Jefferson di American Fiction, dopo aver vinto l’Academy Award per miglior sceneggiatura non originale, ha portato a casa il premio per miglior sceneggiatura.
